Don't
Well; First off, if you don't use the sub (i.e. play it at a reasonably loud level), then you are absolutely wasting your time. Barely using the sub (keeping the volume down) isn't going to do anything to help "loosen" it. Second, the sub will loosen up just fine during normal operation. Just use it like you planned on using it. Unless you are pushing the sub to it's absolute extreme (which, sorry, but you won't do that with music at typical listening levels), then you have nothing to worry about. Just play the sub now how you would play the sub a year from now.i absolutely trust your opinions and advice... butany reason in particular???
Use layer upon layer of sound deadening //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif 2-3 layers on every surface is what I'd aim for if I were you.and sqeak... since ive got you on the line... anyadvice on dampening the trunk???
Raammat - http://www.raamaudio.com/products.htm (what I use)what to use?
Absolutely. You will do nothing but benefit from sound deadening. Put it everywhere; trunk (every wall/floor/trunk lid/rear deck if it's rattling), floor of the car, doors, as much of the cabin's side of the firewall as possible, A-pillars (help kill wind noise), roof. Don't have to do it all at one time mind you //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif But as your stereo progresses, that should be your ultimate goal. Doors and floors will also benefit from a layer or two of acoustical foam.if to bother? where to put it?
LOL.......not cheap? 36sqft of Dynamat Extreme (Dynamat's comparable product) costs $250. Which means 62sqft of Dynamat Extreme would cost $500......which means the Raammat costs 80% less than the "mainstream" brand //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif And if you e-mail Rick (the owner of Raammat), you'd likely be able to get him to sell it to you for $79 + shipping.RAAMmat60 ® V3 (view 1) - (view 2) 50' x 1.25' x 60mils (62.5 sq ft) $99.00
thats not exactly cheap
I was able to do 1 layer on my entire trunk (walls, floor, rear by taillights and trunk lid) and 3 layers on my drivers door with one roll.how much is 62.5 sq. ft going to do???
