XXX 15 or 18 in a new cavi

once spring rolls around I want to go with an XXX, does anyone know if a 15 or 18 will fit in a cavalier, also would the 15 ported be about as loud as the 18 sealed? I've only had the car a week (2004 Cavalier) so I don't know how big of a box I can cram in there but I don't care about left over trunk space, I want lots of bass. do you know of any simular setups?

Measure the trunk, find out the maximum dimensions (LxWxH) and we'll be able to help you out more. Also the XXX15" ported will be louder than an 18" sealed...

That all depends on box... The XXX 18 sealed = 1.5 XXX 15's... both have mad potential, but I think I would go with personal preference. I prefer ported so i would go with a low tuned 15"

Talking from personal experence Get some cardboard and make an actual 3-D box.

This will help you measure out the last couple inches of potental as well as, and most importantly, make sure you can get the box through the opening of your trunk. A friend of mine came to me to help him build a box. So we did, he showed up with his car went to put it in an it got stuck. to long/tall to make it through the opening.

yeah technicaly the it has like 13 feet of cargo area but I don't know how big of a ox I can fit through the opening but another question about box shape, ok lets say its an 18 inch sub but only 10 inches deep, will it make a difference if I make a box where the sub would drop in the top and face up if the ports still went to either the trunk side or at the passenger compartment? I thinkn I could fit a lot bigger of a box if the hieght is only like 10-13 inches tall (rough idea) the current box outside dimensions are 14 tall, 15 deep, and 31 wide but I can fit bigger. But I should take the 15 ported over the 18 sealed?

you could put the box together in the trunk..... just an idea for the box. but i personally would go with a 15 ported because they just function better in a ported box
