Xtant 1001x really only 1000watts rms at 1ohm?

xtants manual claims 1000rms at both 2 and 1 ohm but when i hooked it up to a memphis m3mojo in a ported box wired at 1ohm it completely blew me away of how much more power it was putting out. my friend has a memphis 1000d which is supposed to be 1100rms at 1ohm but my amp blew him away by far.

most other amps see a huge leep in rms watts when dropping ohm so my question is could the 1000rms at 1ohm just be underated?

They are 2 totally different amp with totally different quality. Yes xtant is probably underrated on the power but you have to look at all the other numbers on it. Look at THD, SN Ratio, things like that make a big difference. Even the input levels. There IS a difference in quality when it comes to amps.

i understand that but i was wondering about the actual rms ratings. ive never seen another amp rated the same for 2 and 1ohm, anybody?

i had that amp. car toys tested it for me when they still carried xtant. 1640. i wish i still had the sheet on it to post, but i gave it to the guy i sold it to.

How can I check what its making @ 1ohm I have the amp in my truck right now hooked up to my l7 12's @ 1ohm...

Is it loud enough for you? If yes, then what do the numbers really mean? For there to be a genuinely noticable difference in volume from one amp to another, it really takes a huge difference in power. Unless you have the volume turned all the way up, you aren't going to get nearly the max power out of eiter amp and is a moot point. Chances are that the gains on the two amps were not matched and the xtant was simply making its power with the volume set at a lower level.
