Xstatic vs. Kinetic?????

How do kinetic batteries compare to xstatic batcaps?

Kinetic 100F models are the same size as xstatic 800F models //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif And they both look EXACTLY, EXACTLY the same, and are both the same PRICE.

How do the performance of the two brands stack up? And do they really have as much capacity as they say? I have a hard time understanding how a 100F and a 800F "battery-style capacitor" are both the same size, and look exactly the same??????

And furthermore, how do either of them compare to a regular cap?

Please, just subjective responses, no suggestions about other upgrades to do first. I have a 2nd battery, big alternator, big 3 in 0-gauge, blah blah blah. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crazy.gif.c13912c32de98515d3142759a824dae7.gif

It's just i can get the kinetic local, and the guy's cutting me a deal since i just had him build me a box, and he just opened up. I would have to send away for the batcap, but they're both the same dimentions, but claim completely different capacities.... SO CONFUSED

Please, let me know how all these devices stack up, i'm going in circles here!!!!

P-P-PLEASE! Is a kinetic battery as fast to discharge and recharge as a cap?

Just want to get a HC600 or HC800 for use as a cap, if they're fast enough.

Don't need huge capacity, my electrical can recharge it just fine, just want something to buffer spikes faster than a regular battery, and am not sure if this is the right path????

no way. i forget what it is but i cap is ment to recharge and discharge very fast while a batcap is ment to do it a lil slower and a batter the slowest out of the three. if you want some thing like a cap then get a cap. a 2 farad should be good per 1000 watts.

alright, guess there's no easy way out of this one, shoulda bought an orion //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

i was told big capacity caps aren't even as effective as the 1 farad single coil capacitors.

Get the kinetik, they are fast enough. I was running 1600 watts off a solid electrical, added a kinetik hc800 in the rear, and my voltage went back up. I used to hang around 10-11v and have massive headlight dimming, the battery got it back up to 12.8-13.8v full tilt. My headlights didn't dim nearly as bad.

i'm gonna make some phonecalls here this morning, and figure out what to do, exactly

it's possible that even if the kinetik ISNT as fast as a regular cap, a cap/kinetik combo could greatly reduce the number of capacitors i need to truly be effective.

I seriously just hate mushy bass. I want bass attacks to CRACK me in the back of the head, not just PUSH me.

original shop i talked to was gonna sell me a hc600 for $179, so i was calling around, talking to all the shops in town, and found a shop willing to sell me the hc800 which is 2x capacity for $199, to beat the other offer.

THEN, i talked to kinetik on the phone, and he told me the higher the capacity, the slower the response. He told me the bigger models are more like a battery than a cap, but the small ones are almost as fast as a cap, and they use a plate/isolator core rather than a gel or lead acid core. And he also said the response of the hc600 and hc800 were nearly identical.

I think i might do a hc800 as my final electrical upgrade, hopefully i can finally call it a day and be satisfied.

So:

240A alternator ==> starting battery ==> accessory battery ==> hc800 ==> stinger capacitor ==> amp

I think that'll give the alternator more than enough time to kick in. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

and i'll play around with using the stinger cap and removing it, so see if it helps or is making it worse. I want it to be perfect, and not have to even think about it anymore.
