Just an FYI: The talk shows and sports broadcasts WILL have commercials. Its only the MUSIC channels that are commercial free.

They do. He's just in denial right now. He thinks only Sirius has commercial free music stations when in fact XM changed their music stations to commerical free over 2 years ago because that was the only marketing point Sirius could use to sway customers from XM.

Apparently those guys have a different opinion of what a commercial is. A "promo" is NOT a commercial, which is what they are referring to. When they advertise a program that is coming up on XM that is a "PROMO". When you advertise a 3rd party product that has nothing to do with XM it is then called a "COMMERCIAL".

Dude, I'm not too proud to admit anything. They both have commercials on talk channels. That is because talk channels are syndicated and have to follow the conventional radio format and take a commercial break when the talk show takes a commercial break. In AM and FM commercials are what pay the bills and supply revenue.

Like I said, a PROMO and a COMMERCIAL are 2 entirely different things. XM only has PROMOs on the music channels.

However I will say this. Sirius has much better customer service. 24 hrs a day while XM has not. Not to mention I think XM has outsourced their service dept. which really pisses me off.

It doesn't really matter. I was saying that they have misunderstood what the difference was. In the end it would add up to maybe 1 or 2 minutes per hour. But like I said I can't remember the last time I've heard a commercial on XM music channels.

You like what you like and I like what I like. If I find out they're trying to sneak commercials back into the fold I will switch over as my deck is compatible with Sirius too.

Where can I get the box for xm, it is not on eclipse's website or cc's...... I have a avn5435 fyi if that makes a difference in compatibility.....
