When Powerball and Megamillion lottos first started, there were only about 42 balls to draw from and the odds of winning the grand prize was about 1 in a 150,000,000. Now, there are seventy-some balls to be drawn from. I don't know the current odds of winning, but it's got to be considerably higher.they changed the algorithm to make it go higher, it was announced on the news and they said it again last night.. reason they did that is once it gets to certain point i think it used to be 250mil they don't have to put as much of what peeps are spending back into the pot ., the states get to keep more
guy wife sold 1 million $ ticket to got $440,000 after taxesI just want 1 million
My point exactly. I wish they would make it easier for people to win the grand prize (instead of making it harder), thus as they say, spreading the wealth. One person should not be winning $750 million. 75 people winning $10 mil or 150 people winning $5 mil would be so much better for the economy.****, id live nice off 5mil cuz about 4 of it would go in investments
yeah that's what i been saying for yrs., it would not only do more for more peeps it would help the economy, like kr said most of $340mill cash would just go in stocks or bonds.. where as if 50 peeps cleared $6.8mil at least 10% of that would be spent buying cars or house in the 1st yr makes more sense.. but states want that extra $ in slush fund (THAT DON'T GO TO SCHOOLS) over whatever amount it is 250mil or so they can spend $ on whatever they want..I wish they would reduce the amount of balls to draw from and make the odds of winning greater. The grand prize may only be $40 million, but a whole lot more people would be winning...spreading the wealth. Yesterday, one person won $753 million. I'd rather see 30 people win $25 million than one person win $750 million. I don't know about anybody else, but I could live very nicely off of $25 million.
omg didn't see this post me and u think alike lol..My point exactly.
