are you basing this off personal experience?
Based on an amp change out on an install i did. We weren't able to clamp the Bxi 1608 (as it was blown). The Audiopipe measured ~1490w @ 14.6v on a 50hz tone, also gained .2db over the Hifonics in the exact same vehicle, voltage, subs, etc.. I would have been glad to have had the same test done on the Hifonics, but it smoked before we had a chance to clamp it. Being realistic, with the Bxi being .2db down from the Ap15001 in the exact same set-up, its obvious that it is not producing the rated 1600w. They are good budget amps, but for the same money, the Audiopipe outperformed it and hasn't given any problems to date.

which amp lasted longer..... im guessing the hifonics did not. went out in star fashion up in smoke like you stated. You know what hifonics needs to make some fog machines oh wait they do //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

hmm...interesting. Never heard of this, but good to hear

We had both amps at 1 ohm. Never tried to go any lower, so i have no idea how it would do at .5ohm.
oh i c i c. i ran my fusion at .5 ohm and it actually performed well to my supprise. Ran it for about an hour and it got warm. not enough to burn teh skin but warm haha. I switched out the 25a fuses to 40a fuses. I have heard it can burp at .25ohms but im not to savvy on trying that.
