Wut about AudioBahn?

I have repaired alot of Audiobahn equipment, and they sell them based on their looks not performance.

They are very cheaply built. They use technology from back 15 years ago. They are also poorly designed for protection. When an internal problem occurs, you have big problems. They don't have protection built in that properly protects the components. Usually when an Audiobahn amp goes out, it takes alot with it.

The technology comment is very true. Open up their amps and open up any other similar style amp, and their is no comparsion.

The technology used to build their boards is what was being used 15 years ago. The technology being used today by most other manufacturers is far superior to the design that Audiobahn uses. Sorry, but true.

I work on these units very regularly (because they go out regularly), and like I said before they do not use the technology other brands use to protect the circuits. When something happens to the amp, 9 times out of 10 you have serious damage done.

^^ most bs post ever. it may be true, but someone who's never worked on an amp, seen the inside of an amp, or even seen an amp culd have typed that post. it sounds like the book reports i used to write in high school when i didn't actually read the book, you just repeated what you said in your previous post. that's not proof

let's see some PROOPHZ

Ok, here a better set of examples. I am using the A2002T to A8002T models for the examples:

1) They use mostly all pin through technology instead of surface mount.

2) They use cheap "old school" circuit boards that do not take solder properly, so down the road you run into cracked and broken joints. Also, sometimes the boards can crack.

3) They do not properly clean the boards after they are manufactured, and the flux that is use during manufacturing is the flux that can cause problems later (corrision).

4) As I had mentioned before, there is not proper protection built in to protect the internal components. In the event of a short, spike, or overheating problems the input circuit that sets up the power supply voltage will totally breakdown. These unit either carry 4 or 8 FET's in the input section. If any of these problems occur, all of these FET's will be blown. In the event that the proper protection circuit had been used, this would not have happened. Especially, not to this degree. Pioneer and Sony also have protection issues.

5) Even down to the mounting of the internal boards, LED's, heat sinks, etc. are done in a very cheap, technologically challege way.

Don't get me wrong, they do have their positives, but they have plenty of negatives. I feel that Audiobahn spent alot more time and money designing the externals to boost sales by their looks, and not near as much time and money designing the actual electronics.

you dont even get what u pay for with audiobahn... i tried their amps once years ago after i saw a 20,000 system mike bibby had put into one of his trucks... i figured shit there must be somethin im not gettin ifcelebs are spendin big bread on complete systems at show shops... so i decided to "give them a chance" let me tell ya ite true they are shit i came to the conclusion while some people play basketball really well they dont know shit about finances or stereo systems... it was a sad day but oh ell i sold all three of the bahn amps and got most of my money back...heres the thing tho... i hid all the amps cause i hated how they looked...
