Product: PPI A1200

Specs: 1200wrms@4ohms bridged, 600x2@2ohms stereo, 300x2@4ohms stereo, etc.

Description/Condition: Definitely not mint //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif The power plug looks like hell, and the amp itself has its fair share of scratches and nicks...Currently, the gain knob needs to be replaced. I replaced it when I got it, but the one I replaced it with causes a whine the more you turn it up (only ran it in my house hooked up to a Kinetic, so not sure if it's a ground loop or what). I'm on the lookout for a proper replacement, but if you happen to have one and and a soldering iron, then shoot me an offer. I'm not looking to trade it to someone who wants to devalue it $100 because that's what a shop quoted them. This is an easy diy repair that anyone with a soldering iron and the right part can do. Also - It has two 80a fuses, needs 60a fuses.

Looking for: A not-class A/B, SQ-based, 1000wrms-1500wrms @ 4 or 1ohm, preferably o/s amp. Cash may be necessary on your part, but I don't have any cash to put forth on my part. If anything, part of the deal would include you paying for my shipping. If you happen to have an o/s MMats amp that meets these criteria, I will cream myself, then trade //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Feedback: None listed through iTrader obviously. I have a couple ref's on Caco under ******* Bobb, a few transactions on eBay under kvansloten, and I have done trades with Shinju (in person), Ghostmechanic, and probably someone else I'm forgetting. If need be, I will take pics of the packaging it goes in, a video of it being sent out, etc. I can also provide a video of it working tomorrow night if you'd like. This is a highly sought after and expensive amp, so I want you to be sure that the last thing that would happen would be you getting scammed out of it.

**** nga!! thats my amp? LOL. Nice.

She's come a long way since you had it, at least as far as cosmetics are concerned...

It was crispy clean on the inside when I got it. All the solder was in very good condition. I didn't even feel compelled to flux any joints, and I'm usually very OCD about that!

I was liberal with the thermal paste, though. Ain't nothin wrong with a little extra protection! Besides how it looks, of course lol. It wasn't necessary for me to redo the thermal paste (I cleaned all the old paste off first; I didn't just slap new paste on old paste), but I figured it would be worth it for such a nice amp...

This thing sounded ridiculous when hooked up to my Infinity RS 2.5's and Technics SB-7000a's! Super loud, extremely good sounding (despite the whine). Wish it wasn't worth so much, so I would be compelled to keep it! It would really tax my stock electrical system though, which is a big concern for me considering I don't have any money to spend on extra wiring, batteries, etc.

people should be hung for letting that nice of an amp get in that condition....i can see a few minor marks through the years....but thats just abuse to such a nice amp....at least its still good clean power for someone ...GLWT
Agreed...but yes, the way I look at it is that its still a super nice sounding amp, and quite powerful. Probably the nicest sounding 1200wrms amp you can buy!

It would look nice exposing the guts, built into the floorboard of a vehicle...that was my plan for a while

You clearly weren't getting good contact with that power plug. If you were it wouldn't have burnt up like that. Check that connection before you destroy this beauty.
That power plug was long melted before he got it. It was ran hard by the previous owners brother. I cleaned it up as good as it will get. Also that plug melted from the amp drawing WAY to much current though small power cable.

This ^

As I said, the solder on the board was shiny and clean. These amps are TANKS, and I'm not just saying that to help my sale. I mean these things are seriously difficult to blow!

The problem with the first gain knob was that the the previous owner dicked around with it too much, so it would spin freely. This one works, just not perfectly.

Just as I said I would do in the following thread, I am linking you guys to my bad feedback thread where Geoff accuses me of being a thief. I want there to be no surprises to anyone here, and I am overly confident that if anything, you will feel even more safe dealing with me after you read through the thread.

Obviously the first post is important as this is where Geoff voices his opinion, but equally important is my #261 post on page 15 and the following pages, where things make a path towards resolution.

It is up to you to, the buyer/trader, to read and infer what you will. There are always two sides to a story, and it's your job to play detective. There is A LOT to read, but if you plan on investing in a $350 amp, you probably will want to invest an hour or so of your time to read that thread all the way through. If you plan on stating your opinion in the thread, I ask that you read all of it through first. I would rather be convicted guilty by an unbiased evaluation than supported by a biased post. In other words, please don't just support me if you enjoy/have enjoyed any transactions we have done. I would hope that you would honor things the other way around as well, but I understand that it's easier to point fingers than it is to make a viable argument.

On a separate note, this amp is about to enter the pending stage. The person does want to follow through with the trade, but I will not send that amp out until I am able to send him a video of it working on each channel and at any level of attenuation. I will update this thread if/when we decide to pull the trigger and ship our shiz out.
