Ok, maybe its not very big of a challenge but it is more than I wanna do lol. I have 3 Alpine Type R motors sitting here(Original Type R as far as I know, the ones before the Type Rs with the ribbed surround...) I want these to be reconed into 8 inch subwoofers that can take hopefully at least 500 RMS each, the more the better. Please PM me with any questions. I think it takes a 2 inch coil, I am not positive though, I will go measure it. I also will measure anything else needed, but all I have is a tape measure so dont expect very good measurements lol

Good luck
Thanks I guess? Anyways, here is what I came up with for measurements. I measured everything I assumed was needed. There are 6 screw holes, and from the center of one to the center of the next one directly to the left or right of it measures roughly 2 3/32 inches. From what I could see, the "inner" diameter appears to be 1 29/32 inches, and from the part that is centered in the middle of the motor(pole? IDK what its called...) to the motor is about 1/8 inch, which would mean the "outer" diameter would be the inner plus 1/4 inch, correct?(1/8 plus 1/8...) so 1 29/32 inch plus 1/4 inch equals 2 7/32 inches. I hope I did this right XD

lil confusing....

Can you just measure from each end of the pole(yea u were correct), and then also the outside of the gap(hole the coil goes in), findout the width of the gap. Oh, and findout in mms.

If the gap is 1/8" like you said, then you should be able to have it handle a bit.

Well, like I said all I have is a tape measure so its hard to get accurate measurements. The outside of the gap would be the 2 7/32 inch I said which is ~ 56.356mm. Like I said, the total width of the gap appears to be 1/8 inch, so 3.175mm wide. So 56.356-3.175 equals 53.181mm, which is the inner diameter, or the width of the pole. What else is needed? The distance from center of screw to the next screw would be 53.18125mm...

Sounds about corect for a 2" coil. But who knows how accurate the tape is? I dnt. You may hit up spl audio, guy does alot of peoples subs. EDIT: mybad, you already did. I dnt do custom stuff for people unless they really want me too, because i dnt buy coils unless i need them for me. Don't have any for that. SSacket is another guy, and resko1..
