The older kx series Amps will run 1 ohm and do 3k + my buddy has one we ran at 1 ohm for a while.
It's the older kx it's stable
not entirely true....

I've owned two kx2500.1's and played with a few others. Some 2500's will do 1ohm, some won't. One did it on less beefy electrical and got pretty **** warm/hot after 20 min of full tilt, but did not cutout. Another one i had was on a better electical but was quick to cut out. Maybe I had more imp rise on the first one's setup?

Dont get me wrong, the kicker 2500 board is one of my favorites...but you're much better off getting something rated for what you need.

I've fried my share of amps. Trust me when I say you'll get MUCH more life out of something ran hard at rated imp than you will going under rated imp. For the love of god don't skimp on battery juice.
