Actually, the 36 gig is faster. The downside is that it's only 36 gigs versus it's larger brother. The trade-off in speed doesn't make it worth it to get the 36 gigabyte version either way. Run these in a raid array and whoo. Nice price on the drive and goodluck.

please sir, do some research before you come into my FS thread and flap your gums about something you evidently know nothing about.

Before both the 36gb and the 74gb came out in a 16mb cache, the 74G Version WAS faster than the 36GB version with seek and write times. Now that they revised them and gave them both 16mb Cache, they are both the same speed.

at no point was the 36gb was/is faster than the 74gb, it was the opposite.

appreciate the bump though //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Believe what you will, Maximum PC did a head to head test and the 36gb hd came out on top. I wonder why that is. Free bump again, I'm wondering why this hasn't sold.

If I didn't, I meant to say that the 74Gb Raptor drive is somewhat faster than the 36Gb is (because it supports tagged command cueing), but a raid-0 setup of 36Gb Raptors will blow a single 74Gb raptor aways.

first off. no. higher data density means more data transfer at equal speed.

secondly. no ****ing duh you ****ing moron. wow. i bet my 2 160 gig 7200rpm wd's in raid 0 (which they are) could beat a single 74 gig in SOME aspects such as sustained data (not trying to post dump, sorry) but for fast seek and low latency, theres nothing but the rapter there. obviously 2 drives reading simultaneously will read data faster than a single, but again, you are a ****ing moron.

so /post dumping douchebag.

Bump for op, great hdd for sale here!!!
