Strip the tinsel and solder it back...easy fix

Woven has a daily use life of around 2years. Then, I've seen it happen dozens of times... the tinsels split the spider. This is not repairable at all, and requires a full recone... working on one from a TC9 for a buddy right now.
Ever think of a stiff metallic material in a soft cloth material? Can also easily throw off t/s specs.

HMMM never thought of the conflicts involved in metals vs cloth in movement. That is an interesting point. They won't move with the same fluid motion creating a stress point in the fabric. I have heard the repairing argument fought before though.

Good thing my next driver uses standard lads then as well. I guess eventually I will have to learn to repair this and as explained, strengthen the joint with goop.

Thanks for the re-assuring and intelligent thought between the 2 practices. I can say I agree totally now. The physics involved dictates that you are correct.
