Wtf?!

I just hooked up my 4 channel speaker amp...

before that i just had my mrd-m605 running a 10"type r, and the speakers running off the deck.... now that i have the speaker amp hooked up my speakers are sounding beautiful but the voltage on my other amp to my sub is at 11.8?

i thought that maybe there is to much draw so i disconeccted the 4 channel and still 11.8 going at my amp... The power is comming in from the battery going into a distro and out to both amps... wtf is going on?//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/mad.gif.c18f003ab0ef8a0d9c27ca78d77a6392.gif

Was the car running when you saw this voltage?

check the power and grounds. do you have a fused distro?

no the car was not running... but before i even installed the second amp i could run the other sub fine without the car running... negative on the fused distro block. Its just very weird . even at 11.8 what kinda of wattage do u think would be thrown at my sub when at 14 it is supposed to throw 600?

how long were you sitting there messing around with it with the car off?

Take your car for a nice long drive and come home or give the battery a nice little charge and shut it off and see if your votage is still at 11.8.

Also messure the votage at the battery and at the distro and see if they are the same.

I disconected the battery before i started working so the battery should have been fine. I will take your advice anyway and drive it around the block a few times or something like that

I took the car out and at idle its getting 14 volts

i dont understand ! this is pissing me off..... the sub vibrates so little that it almost appears that it is doing nothing. even if i turn the gain all the way up you notice minimal changes? whats going on~!

Well i dont think it is about the wiring... i think i am just drawing to much from my electrical system. do you think that this could be the case?

What is the voltage on the 4 channel amp? If it is higher, then you have a bad connection on the sub amp, which would be my guess anyway.

found out the reason..... your gonna laugh, had the sub wired in series instead of parallel, so my amp was trying to push 8 ohms when it cant
