Is marijuana really legal in Canada? I have heard many different things, and Goog searches only told me that there was a large conflict about it...
Depends. Law is weird.
I was just reading a recent case about weed no more than a few minutes ago in the latest case digest issue we have floating around the office. A kid in Ontario just got convicted over less than 5 grams of marijuana on him ... while his lawyer argued that there is no Federal law for conviction for people carrying 30 grams or less (for the citizens using it legally for medical conditions).
BC is a little bit different currently. Tons of rumors being spread around all provinces. I don't know what the current number is, but last time I heard it was around an 8th (you could legally carry).
I don't deal with marijuana cases at work ... our office doesn't either. You've got me interested in the legal issues about this again, so I'll have to dig up the current laws on it tomorrow.
