Ok so you have the stock 10/12 Gauge ? Wire running from your alternator to your battery and then you have ??? 4 gauge running to your amps ??

You really need to upgrade your alt wire and ground wires , If you dont have the power getting to your batteries the alt was a waste ! If the charge wire is to little it will melt . Make a new plug or whatever you have to do but make a bigger charge wire and ground wire . Does the alt have a positive lug post that a nut goes on for the charge wire ? Most alternators have this and also a plastic plug that plugs in which is not normally the charge wire but the turn on leads for the alt .

12 gauge charge wire and 150 amp alternator >>>>>>>>
