WTF Everything is hooked up right

I have a 97 Firebird and i have everything hooked up right. I have the remote going down the center of my car. The power wire is going down the right side and the jacks going down the left. The ground I have hooked up to a pure metal part of the car which is the frame. When my amps on I get this weird sound its not my music its like a stadic thumping. I tryed some of my friends subs and amps and they do the same thing. I even baught new wire and rehooked my system and it does the same thing. So if anyone has any idea what the hell is going on let me know please.

My cd deck is a duel and my amp is a lanzar and i have to ma audio 10's if you need to know that info.

try hooking the amp up directly to the battery + and - near the engine compartment.

unplug the RCA wires (car is on, amp is on) - is there still static?

if yes, your amp is causing the static. re-ground it somewhere else that is BARE metal. if no, its the head unit and\or rca wires. make sure the wires arent pinched on anything.

re-ground the factory HU ground in the harness to a bare piece of metal as close as you can.

its your piece of shit dual. jk i dunno. try checking wires with voltmeter. make sure every wire has continuity.

It's a dumb thing to check, but I've seen people hook up to the wrong outputs on Dual head units before. If you connected your RCA cable to the jacks on the yellow wire, it's an AUX input, not an output. The output is the gray cable that's part of the power plug. They're not labelled on the back of the head unit, so they sometimes get mixed up.

i would check your ground.... make your ground cable as short as possible..... no longer than a foot and 1/2.... also while the static sound is coming through i would move around my rca cables.. see if that makes the static change a bit... try good cables.. http://www.kunkonceptz.com has some great cables for a good price... good luck
