Why is it scary? Designing a box isn't the hard part. Knowing what specs to design it for is the hard part. (Talking about regular ported boxes, not anything crazy)

Because Its FAR more then just knowing math. My best friend is a Math instructor at USC and he cant design a box on accident. Guess who he called? Saying that all you need to know is math is just noob!@

Please enlighten me on how it's "FAR" more than math. Last time I recalled you can use math to figure out volume, area, lengths, etc... Read my other post, designing the box isn't the hard part, knowing what specs you want it to build it is the hard part. Anyone knowing a little math can make a sealed box. A ported box is a little harder consider you have to take into consideration the port area and port length, but it's still just math.

Yes i know there's other issues in designing a box such as internal cancellation and standing waves, but the basics of designing a ported box are just math.

I can design a box to a certain number of cubes no problem. But ask me to tune it to a certain frequency or make a tline or something like that and im going home. I would rather an aeroport but asking half these dudes to build a box for one is impossible
