WTF bx1606 wont power my XXX

OK, so i wired up my Hifonics 1606D at 1ohm to my 15" XXX (2005 model) and All the sub does is vibrate a little bit to the music. I took it to woodland audio and they said that the hifonics 1606 is not enought power to the 15", and that the sub is only receiving about 800watts. So what should i do? shouldnt this sub still be moving quite a bit? or should i buy a new amp?

that sub should still be moving if it's receiving any kind of power.

also, take a dmm and measure the coils of the sub.

you're sub could be on it's way out too..

too many variables to really narrow down the possibilities.

yea im not really worried by blowing the sub by underpowering. But never mind i figured out the prob. a very stupid mistake. i wired the sub in series rather than parallel which put the sub at 4 ohms.

lol shouldnt have mattered anyhow, i had a XXX at 400 watts before and you could hear the sub

It was probably wired out of phase as well.
