I want to start collecting some old vinyl discs and I was wondering if someone had a good player sitting around.

Any advice about brands, or what to look for is also appreciated.

Just search your local Good Will stores and Craigslist for a decent Technics DD table. Install a Shure cartridge and you will be set for quite some time.
