Well, I think I need a video card. I just bought the ATI Radeon 9550 (Gigabyte/256mb edition) and i'm not completely satisfied with it. I play some of the top-of-the-line games and it can only hold the game F.E.A.R. on minimum/medium graphics. It holds the game fine, but just not perfect, and that's what i'm looking for. Anyone have a good Video card for sale? I have a few cards i'll be willing to possibly trade..

ATI Radeon 9200SE (GIGABYTE 128MB, not Overclockable)

ATI Radeon 9550 (GIGABYTE 256MB, Overclockable and has never been overclocked)

If anyone has a better card, and is willing to trade + cash from me, let me know. This is more a feeler just to see what there is. I'll be willing to trade if it's a card I really like though. Preferably ATI or nvidia please.. Thanks people.

EDIT: Oh yea, here's how old these 2 cards are..

ATI Tadeon 9200SE is 3 years old. just took it out of my PC a few days ago.

ATI Radeon 9550 is 2 days old.. If you don't play the top of the line games, or don't want perfect graphics for the top video games (Which is what i want) this is a good card. This card runs the game (DEMO) F.E.A.R. and Counter-Strike: Source flawlessly. It's just not perfect. If someone wants a screenshot let me know..

what are your current computer specs? you may want to look into upgrading some of those components as well. spending an assload on a great video card isnt going to do THAT much if the rest of your computer cant keep up.

Yea, I thought about this. I was offered this from a computer shop today:

Current Processor: AMD Athlon 2400+ (2.0GHZ)

Next Processor: AMD Athlon 64 3200+ (2.2GHZ)

Old Graphics Card: GigabyteRadeon 9550 (256MB version)

New Graphics Card: Gigabyte nVIDIA Geforce 6600 PCI- E 256MB DDR

Let me know guys and that would be great! Thanks!

He would take my 9550 (which is days old) and the old processor on a trade in for about 300 dollars american all brand new. Opinions?

Also interested in a leadtek 6600 gt that was offered to me by pm for 185 USD. Which is better? the leadtek 6600 gt or the geforce 6600 PCI-E? I;m thinkin the leadtek is.

One of the PCs I game with has an AMD 2400+ in it. You should be ok with that aspect of your PC. It has an FX 5950 Ultra 256mb in it and runs all the top of the line, brand new games perfectly. You may want to look into memory too, that can be a major factor when it boils down to it. 512mb used to be more than enough but I strongly suggest 1GB of PC3200 or UP if you have a DDR(1) mobo - which I suspect. If not, your options are unlimited with DDR2.

Until then, I'd upgrade your video card before the other specs. As long as your hardware isnt much lower then 2400+ or 512mb of RAM you should be ok.

Another thing, take a look around on http://www.tomshardware.com and check the benchmarks and tests they run. Most of these vid cards have great specs now but don't go through video processing like they should.

Thanks for your input. I'll check out that site now. I have 1GHZ of Kingston RAM on my computer too.

You could get a Radeon 9700 Pro from e-bay for about $60. If you look at tomshardware.com it still performs quite well with the newest high $ video cards with the exception of the PCI Express cards.
