i want something with more thickness ie damplifier pro to where i only need to lay down one layer instead of raamat which ill have to lay down two to equal the damp pro
I appreciate the compliment, but please keep in mind that thickness is not an accurate measurement of how good a product is nore how good a value it is.
For example:
Damplifier
1.25 mm thick
.45 lbs per sq. ft.
Many other mats on the market are 1.5 mm thick and only weight .35 lbs per sq ft. And have only 2 mils of foil.
Second Skin Damplifier weighs more even though it is thinner.
This is because there is less oxygen content int he butyl and more resin content as well.
It is difficult to extrapolate performance value when compaing weight but it is easier to see that you get more butyl even though it is thinner.
If we did not defoam the mixture while it was blending, and if we left the mixer on for a few extra hours and allowed more air to be pushed in to the product we could easily double the volume of the butyl, but it would weigh the same.
So 2 products, side by side, one would be twice as thick, but would be just as heavy. Doenst mean that the thicker one is any better...
Thickness is a decent guide to go by but not accurate in determining value/performance
damp pro is also double the cost so do the math
If we are talking math:
1. How is Damplifier Pro double the cost? Perhaps I am rusty but I do not see double the cost.
2. You get nearly twice as much adhesive content with Damplifier Pro and 3 times as much foil.
Your comparison is like trying to convince someone to purchase a honda rather than a BMW becuase Honda is cheaper and since they both have 4 wheels, there is no difference between the ride.
