Don't most new amps have these built into the amp now? I used to use one on an old Kicker ZR360...but do they benefit like a new Kicker ZX1000?

Yes but there 2 very specific reasons why I like the Bass Cube over an amps onboard eq:

1: The Bass Cube has adjustable freq. from 20-110hz. Most amps have fixed freq.

2: The remote knob for the Bass Cube controls the level of boost, NOT the gain. The only amps I know of that remotely controls the boost ONLY is Rockford Power series and JL slash.
