Yes that's one reason. for some reason I am worried about damaging them because of the way that the tweeter and mids sound. They don't sound real clear and the amp is set exactly the way it should be. This is the first set of components that I have owned that has me feeling the way that i do and it's bugging the crap out of me,LOL.
I am not quite sure and you're not insulting my intelligence. all of the work that is being done to my system is done by a good friend of mine who has owned his stereo shop now for 35 years. He has done everything that he can to insure that the amp and head unit and speakers are all adjusted the best that he can get them. if your insulting anyones intelligence it would be his and i will back his knowledge 100%.
no it's not clipping this I can guarantee. the way that it has been scoped and tuned it is clear and free from any clipping up to 35 on the volume scale and i may run it from time to time at 28 or 29 tops. I really don't think that it is the amp either because I am running the JL Audio 700/5.
Might be pushing them too hard at the lower end. I have the PHD FB 6.1 Pros. Im running them with a HPF set at 225hz approx. becasue with the power I was giving them they started bottoming out with an 80hz HPF. But I like to give mine alot of power to, so I had to raise the HPF. Guess thats with any 6.5 though, theyll only take so much power before they reach their limits.
this is really interesting and helpful. I appreciate all of your time and help with your knowledge and I am going to talk with him first thing tomarrow about what you have said because that does make alot of sense to me. I do have 1 question though in regards to the front staging. In the past all of my other cars staging was so that if I closed my eyes while listening the sound was coming from the center of the windshield and it sounded great. this set up isn't like that. the car's tweeters are set in the dash against the windshield and so i am not getting that same sound rather i am getting the seperate sounds from each tweeter area. what would you suggest to get that center sound back?
