I really liked the spectrum over my foil-backed sound deadner. I bought a quart and it was enough for two doors. I highly reccomend it.

Yea the Second skin Spectrum sludge works well..

honestly, u can use 3m rubberized undercoat spray...better then cascade spay on stuff..works really well..u can get it at walmart for about 3-5bux per can

I'll put it up against my spectrum any day of the week.

The spectrum (not sludge) is quite thin. It has some property that reduces sound without adding weight....esp on doors.

Both are water based.

Spectrum and sludge are the exact same thing. The only difference is that with Sludge, we ship you a small bottle of thickening agent. We call it Sludge Activator.

One bottle, (6 oz) will thicken Spectrum up quite well. It starts out with the consitancy of Chocolate syrup and once you add the activator it turns in to a peanut butter type of a product.

Same damping properties though.

As far as rubberized undercoating, I'd stay away. Most of it is crap.

You don't have to purchase Second Skin but there is no reason to use rubberized undercoating in your car. The sound deadening benefits are very low. You get what you pay for, and with $3 per can, it won't go anywhere near my car.
