WTB: line driver

Do I need a Line Driver to run a 3000wrms+ amp from a 2v preout deck?

I just figure if I have a stronger signal to my amp I wouldnt need to turn up the gain quite as much. My last deck had 5v preouts so it wasnt an issue. I dont have this one in yet but I just figured 2v is pretty low its proboboly a good idea to invest in one. I've never used one before so Im new to them

just an fyi, you dont need one...

higher voltage is nice to have, but it is far from neccesary. besides, when you turn the volume down, its just going to reduce the pre-out voltage down. 2v isnt horribly bad either. sure you will have to turn your gain up a bit, but that is what the gain is for, to match your HU or sources voltage to meet the amps needs.

you dont need one but it will help your amp out because you dont haft to run the gain so hi and if i was going to run a big exspensive amp i would get one to help it out also my amp runs cooler since got mine

It may be 2v but what voltage does the signal start to clip?If your only getting 1-1.25 volts before clipping then you might want a line driver.A stronger signal is going to be better but if used incorrectly can cause excessive clipping and damage the speakers. But set up properly I think you would benefit.IMO
