Why are you looking for a W7? Is it to go along with one you already have? If not I would consider going with some Sundown SA-12's or even SA-8v2's. Speaking from experience the Sundown subs kick some serious a**. I had a 10W7 in a HO box for the last 4+ years before switching to 2 Sundown SA-8v2's about a month ago and the sundown's sound better and hit harder than the 10W7 ever did. For the price of a W7 you could get 2 SA-12's and completely obliterate the W7. And with all things considered I will never be paying for JL stuff again. It's good stuff but way overpriced. I paid $1000 for the W7 in the HO box when I bought it and only paid $600 total for 2 SA-8v2's shipped and custom enclosure built. Would have been $500 if I could have built it myself.Looking for a good to mint working condition 12W7 with O ring and Trim ring preferably with OEM shipping box. Will consider Prowedge 12w7 combo if shipping is cheap enough.
Just trying to save the guy some money if it's the only sub he's looking forPost dumping Sundowners ITT
He's been here for since 03 I'm sure he is well aware of SundownJust trying to save the guy some money if it's the only sub he's looking for![]()
Why not go with 2 10w7s then?Like Bettr said I am well aware of Sundown, many don't consider them SQ subs. I do have a 10w7 and I just want to upgrade. Are they the best subs ? Probably not. While they are expensive at used prices they can be a good deal.......Which is why I am here.
Now, anyone with a 12w7?
But what if the single 12 doesn't provide enough SPL for your liking lol. Be better to go with the 2 10s and be conservative with the gain if it's too much perhaps eh? That's prolly what I would do. Then u have extra headroom for when you are feeling like u want more on a given day.I though about that too but 2 10W7's are too much weight, take up too much space and a little more SPL than I need.
I have a 2 sub setup already. I have 2 JBL 10GTI's in a box. The box is kinda large, that is my daily setup. Sometimes I have to carry the family with bags and I need more room in the trunk, so I want to be able to switch up to the 12W7 for less space and weight. Also, 2 10w7's with a decent box will weigh about 100-110lbs. Whereas I can getaway with about with about 70lbs for the 12W7 with box.But what if the single 12 doesn't provide enough SPL for your liking lol. I do that all the time. Sometimes I play my subs conservatively and others I let Em wail like there's no tomorrow lol.
But whatever u figure u would enjoy best. It's your install after all.
How come your worried about the weight? Gas mileage? Cuz I have roughly 100lbs+ worth of subs and box in my trunk with the 2 8s and I don't notice any difference. I just assume that's why u want to keep the weight down.I have a 2 sub setup already. I have 2 JBL 10GTI's in a box. The box is kinda large, that is my daily setup.
