You can get a Ruger MKIII for under $300 brand new.

Definitely head over to a gun shop/range and test out various brands, models, and calibers so you know what fits you the best.

if you want a nice 9mm, you can look into the Taurus PT111, really nice hand gun...they can be had in that range...if you are into 9mm's

forgot to mention it has mepro-light night sights, comes with one 15 rd and 2 10 rd clips, and the original box. if you want a holster for it, i have a blackhawk cqc carbon fiber OWB holster i'll throw that in for 25 more.

here it is with my carry weapon, a heckler and koch p2000 9mm.
