WTB: Decent 6.5" Component Pair

hatedguy on the DIYMA is selling a set of C720PRS comps for a bit more than your budget. They can't be beat for the price IMHO.
What do those sound like? I've honestly never heard of them! I could swing $250 if they'd be as good as Hertz HSK165 or the cheaper Polk momos

They'll blow them away. The mid in that set is on another level. I've had a set in three different vehicles. The only reason I'm changing out the set in my Dodge is I'm going bigger with my sub stage so I wanted a bigger mid to match.

Do a search on diyma for "C720PRS" or "720PRS" there should be a ton of reviews from back when they came out. I'm not real good on all of the "lingo" for describing how they sound. I just know the midbass had a ton of smooth punch.

They're a little power hungry is probably their only downside but I ran them off of the front channels of a Zuki Eleet 4 and a RF T600-4 and they were great. I've heard of some people running them on bridged 4 channel amps as well too.

Awesome, thanks for the info! How do you think they would do on 50-75w?

I believe they had an RMS of like 50W so they'll be fine. If you can find a way to throw 100-150 at them the midbass will really start to shine though.

I might have a lead on CDT components using the HD-6CF carbon fiber 6.5" mid-woofers and silk tweeters, which would be in your budget. This set was selling for $249 and you will get a warranty.

Dang, looks like those Pioneers got snatched. I'm not too familiar with CDT, though I've heard a bit about them around here. Could you tell more more about the CDTs in comparison to the Hertz, HAT and those Pioneers?

Thanks for all the help guys

Actually the fella just PMed me and those Pioneers were still available. I snatched em! Thanks for all the help guys - and thanks for the heads up @k5james. I can't wait to hear these things
