Big caps are great fun and all, but the problem is we're dealing with 12 volts in regard to car audio. To store any meaningful amount of power at 12 volts, you'd need a gigantic capacitor. I mean around the lines of 200,000 large 1 farad capacitors to have a similar effect of just adding another battery! Obviously a single battery is going to be a lot cheaper and easier to wire than two hundred thousand caps. Capacitors simply aren't very effective at low voltages. Whoever suggested to use caps for 12v was on something illegal.
