Correct. Some amps (not nearly so many as there used to be as the number of people needing them has decreased as preamp outputs even on entry-level HUs becomes more and more commonplace) have inbuilt high-level inputs (speaker wire as opposed to RCA interconnects) and eliminates the need to use an LOC if the amp is to be used with a source unit that has no RCA preamp outputs.

I have no personal experience with Power Acoustik's gear so I can't say for certain, friend.

It's my assumption that they're a budget brand along the lines of Profile and the like though if I'm wrong on this point hopefully someone will be along to correct me.

I had a PA put in my girls car and it works fine. Its running to RE8's. Its only rated at 125x2@2 but shes not really into bass.Its loud enough for her.
