yeah caps are no good your better of with a battery. i have a kinetik 1800 that i am selling i had it wired right nex to my colossus 2, it kept voltage at 13+ volts. price is $160 shipped by the way.

x2 Big 3 and HO alt should be before a second battery. 2 batteries on a stock alt will put a big strain on it...
