I thought caps were bad? I have been reading this forum for awhile and everyone says they are bad? they lying?

I have a cap in my car tho the shop installed it, they said it helped my cars battery or something and that I had to have it or they would't warranty anything I had them install.

Can someone clarify this for me? please?

Cap's aren't bad, they're just not needed. It's sort of a waste of money.

EDIT: My bad guys, I'm totally wrong about caps. Caps are great for any install!

Will it void my stereo warranty like they told me it would?

i have a stinger 5 farad capacitor its one of the square digital ones i could do $100, shipped, its flat black and has the digital display, dual 1/0 input/outpits, and a relay built in for 4 more remote wire splices.
