just want to get some info from you, do you have 1 or 2 H/O alternators? atleast 3 or 4 big batteries and lots of 1/0 wire? 5kw is no joke

just want to make sure you dont get a huge amp, and drop it to 9-10 volts and POOF!

if you want to run something that will really do 5k you are going to need a good bit more

I run about 5500, and I have a stock 150 amp alt....2 runs of 1/0, and a deka g34 up front and 2 g31's in the rear. With no big 3 at tilt I would go to low 12's.

I put a mechman 250 ho alt in and my voltage rarely see's anything in the 12's.

Everyone is differant tho, and all my amps are puttin out at 2 or 4 ohms too:

but my stock alt was fine, as I'm runnin it again now, but will throw back in when the weather is warmer and my new setup is goin
