wtb 4 CH that is 1ohm stable per ch. decent quality, around 600 ish or more watts.

possibly a pair of re xxx compnents per door. or 2 sets or another 2 ohm stable speaker...
or you could just wire them series to 4ohms for compatibility with most amps.

Anyway, to the OP........can you give an example or brand/model amp you are looking for? I ask because i've never seen one that i can remember ATM.

it's for a local buddy. i didnt get too deep into the specifics but it's something to the effect of 16 mids and highs. he insists it all comes down to 1 ohm per ch. ill double check what he has and make sure it's what he thinks it is....or even better reconfigure it to a better ohm load.

soundstream rubicon old school amps are 1ohm stereo stable, my rubicon 604 says so in the manual. There are always a few on ebay
Yeah I was just thinking that... the only 1ohm stable 4 channels that I know of (I'm sure there are others out there) are old school amps (preferably all old SS) lol

What he probably has if its 16 total, is 4 units with a 4ohm impedance(each) wired in parallel to 1ohm, and x that by 4, Instead of doing that you might want to think about getting (2) 4channel amps instead of just 1 big one.. mostly because the amp willl be running quite hot because of that 1 ohm load.

Here's an example. bridge each amp... Ill use an example of a SS Rub4.600, it does 300 x2 at 4ohm bridged. Series/ Parellel 4 speakers per channel and youll get 4 ohms. So youll have 8 drivers on each amp...

Just a suggestion

i think the sundown sax 200.4 is 1 ohm stable
sadly those aren't even out yet... and they are HUGE!!!

i got a ph.gold xs 4600 that is 1 ohm stable..

Interesting, I never knew the XS line was 1ohm stable...does it actually say so in the manual, or is it just common knowledge that they can handle it?

I personally think the OP should just wire each set of 4 speakers to 4ohms and run a couple of 4 channels bridged at 4ohms...it'd make amp selection a lot easier.
