I need a motor for a 99 civic EX. The motor code is d16y8. It is a SOHC VTEC. Prefer a complete engine but the lower end will do.

yep, nobody has one locally. Hopefully one comes in because I really dont wanna have to drive out of state for a motor but I will if I have to. Shipping would be a killer so thats a definite no. Hopefully if someone has one they are close. I will also take a 97-00 civic SI motor. B16 with the black valve cover.

Good luck. You should try Honda Tech. Theres a Z6 for like $100 on there now.

I picked up a 99 civic EX in a trade. The bottom end raps and the car has no power but does run. I just dont wanna screw with rebuilding the one thats in it. Would rather just throw in a good motor.

I wouldnt mind doing a swap but I am unsure if the mounts or harnesses are any different. The car has a SOHC VTEC so I dont know if a DOHC would use a different harness and shit. And the GSR motor ir pretty much the same as the 99 Civic SI motor.
