WTB ~1200wrms @ 2 ohms

You won't even hear a difference going from 800W to 1,200W. I just saved you $150 that you can put into a better box, sound deadening, etc.
Even if the subs are rated at 600wrms and currently only receiving 400wrms each? Thanks btw, I've always been deciding whether it would be worth upgrading or not.

You could always get a 2k @1 ohm amp so you could push a clean 1200 or so watts @ 2 ohms, and have room to upgrade at some point if you chose to. I run a Boston 1k @ 2 ohms amp. Love me some 2 ohm power!

So would there be any noticeable difference going from a Cadence F-700 (800wrms @ 2 ohms, 400 watts per sub) to something like a JBL bp1200.1 (JBL BP1200.1 (bp12001) Monoblock Car Amplifier, Power Amp) ~1300wrms @ 2 ohms? I'd be able to sell my old amp so it would only cost me like $50 to upgrade, but I still don't know what difference there would be if any.

The thing that confuses me is I know you need a double in power to have a 3 dB increase, but I've also heard that if you increase power, it might not make it louder, but make it 'hit harder'. What does that even mean, though?

I would do it.

On paper, it's a 1.76db gain (qualifying as 'noticeable') but not worth the $150...

I agree with the rest though... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/cool.gif.3bcaf8f141236c00f8044d07150e34f7.gif
