Reading the specs makes it clear that they perform well in larger ported boxes. We recommend 2-2.5 cubes for a 12. They were designed to be an efficient sub optimal in large boxes and sound great for daily use.

They've proven that they work well for both goals in our Tahoe that took first in S3 at Freezefest and even beat the S4 scores. They are still in the preorder phase so no others are currently on the market, but they are only 30-45 days out at this point.

I can compare them to my DDZs, if that counts...

Yes that volume and port area would be perfect, tuning is a little high for my tastes but everyone is different in that aspect. It would be very loud tuned that high though, lows would just be limited.
