What did you give away? You asked for $35 shipping. It costs $10 to ship that. USPS flat rate. Add insurance and all that mumbo jumbo and it's no more than $15. Whoever got the amp won't be able to sell it for more than 40-50 shipped, at which point they will lose or break even.
