I have this: 1501D(mtx) on a DC lvl 4 @ 2ohms so its seeing 1500ish

now if I get another 12 and wire them both down to 2 ohm they each would be seeing 750ish, so I would be doubling the cone area and cutting power in half. So would there a substancial diffrence in output? Hopefully alot louder.

i would think that since more cone area is there, theres gonna be more air moving, so it will get slightly louder, but im sure if you slapped the 1000-1500rms to both youd be good.

where you at in pinellas?

If you're currently running 1 sub at 2 ohms, you can't add another of the same sub and still have a 2 ohm final load.

I know, I was planning on getting it reconed, right now I it has lvl5 soft part //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

And I actully could but it wouldn't be reccomended //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif each sub would have a diffrent impedence.

well thats just a bad idea, so i say no, build a really good ported box and you'll see an increase in output

Which isn't even worth mentioning because of how terrible an idea it is.

If you have an MTX1501d, you can simply mod it to play @1ohm daily.

Get another of the exact same sub you have now (same soft parts, coil config), and wire it to 1ohm. You'll see 1800+ watts @1ohm modded.

The mod is very simple, I've done it to dozens of 1501d's...

I already have a really good ported box and it is extremely loud for 1 12 in a trunk car IMO, and again I know bad idead wasnt going to do it just saying.

tis true, just being a smart ***

I take it I would have to beef up my electrical then huh? Or at least anouther battery. as of now with both amps at 2ohms every once and a while she will drop down to 12.5.
