Would it be worth the money to use Fi BTL as a daily driver?

I want something loud, maybe 1 or 2 BTL, but what about the BLs? or Q? how are they? right now i have the earthquakes and I think they are loud but I'm not sure how they are compared to something like Fi or DD, something a little bit more serious. I'm tired of my prefab box and crap like that. What is the best for money? Best sound? I know I could search it but this is just easier. Amps too, I've looked around Fosgate, DD, and Hifonics, but not sure about much yet. Ideas? Personal experiences with anything I should know about? Thanks guys!

In my oppinion the BTL's actually sound a little better that some other all out SPL subs For instance, the SoloX.. Horrible, Horrible sounding fart maching.

I have a 12" btl as a daily driver and it doesn't sound all that bad and it gets plenty loud as well for a single sub set up.

a good sub like FI BTL will sound pretty good. alot of the big power, spl subs, sound pretty good in a ported box tuned in the low 30's.

if u want to get BLT then do it. they are amazing subs.

the Qs will kill the lows!

if u ur not into comps i would get some Qs and tune them low! that would be nasty!

Why don't you just build a correct box for the subs you have now? YOU probably have them in some 1/2" thick undersized high tuned POS prefab like you were saying, just man up and build a real box for your subwoofers - jeez.

I bet they sound like azz because your box is the sucks.

For a real 2k+ amp try the aq220 instead of the firecracker amp you have now.

Yes, and people can get very loud with many many SQ subs. Does that make SQ subs SPL subs? No.

It is all about the install. A solo-x compared to a SE, Q, IDMax, or any other "SQ" woofer, will sound horrible in a similar install. The solox is what, 2500 RMS, that is no SQ woofer.

Oh no not this again trass! That was part of my point except reading my post again it didn't come out at all. Almost any sub can be made to sound good in the correct install, as proven by that solox.

A lead brick and two rubber bands can have good SQ at 126db, the level they use when judging most SQ competitions. Try to make a SoloX sound good at louder listening levels, as is more likely the case with someone running a solox daily. Or most of these SPL oriented subs for that matter.
I always have to wonder, if BTL's can sound so good, and are clearly solid SPL subs, why does Fi bother making any other subs at all? //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif Its a real popular trend these days to run a full SPL sub in a daily system, and then claim it has solid SQ. I have to wonder how many of these guys really know what a really good sounding system sounds like.

Not saying the BTL is a full SPL sub only. It can be configured abit differently, unlike most of these other subs. But it will never be a Velodyne, or even IDQ.
