Would clipping an amp hard cause a lot of voltage drop in this set up?

I have

XS power D3400 and x2 XP3000s

IRaggi 380A alternator.

My current 5k amp has an issue and I sent it in. I hooked up my brothers Memphis 1k. It was 9 at night and dark. So I just jacked the gain all the way up for the time being. (I just set the gain, it is now at about 1/4-1/3)

When I was playing the music with the revs up, my voltage stayed at the low 13s/high 12s.

But I set the amp this morning with the DMM. 1.5ohms @ 1k. So the math came out to 38.7AC volts.

So I set the amp to that.

Now I put a DMM on the front battery. and One on the back batteries.

Turned on the music, cars fan, A/C, headlights and hazard lights.

And sent the revs up to 2000.

Voltage before everything was 14.5. Voltage after everything 14.3

So was clipping the amp super hard causing that much of a voltage drain?

whats this? it says gain... hmmm... when I turn it up my woofa's get louder... DERPY DERP DERP DERPY DERPITY DERP DERP.
But the gain is set right now to make the amps 1k. Thats all the amp can do. Is 1k.

So by turning the gain up all the way. I am not making anymore power. Just more distortion.

But is the amp still drawing my power? And if it is. How would that cause voltage drop with my set up. Unless it is because of the clipping?

how bout you just stop tuning knobs and dials ok?

Clipping increases power as well as distortion. You can easily ruin your equipment and pull a ton of current be heavy clipping. That's how newbs blow their subs.
I understand that. THank you for the answer.

That would explain the horrible voltage drop even though I have MORE THAN enough electrical to power that 1k.

Now that I have the 1k tuned correctly. It causes .1-.2 volts to drop.

If you just sent your amp in you should get it back relatively soon so why not just be safe and keep it turned down for like 3 Weeks or whatever? And actually have working subs when you get your amp back....

.1 - .2 isn't "horrible voltage drop" and it's probably because of all of the other things you had turned on and most likely a/c. You should have turned those off to test instead of asking on here. Use some common sense. Also, clipping causes an amp to draw TONS more current than it is supposed to. Even though it may only do a clean 1000 watts, having it put out square wave requires it to be at maximum power for much longer during each cycle. People forget about time being a factor. Learn about "duty cycle".

you obviously didn't read what I stated. retard
