would a pair of stetsom V2KD's do my XXX's justice?

Well I have a 2k6D that I'll be hooking up here after Christmas to my 9515. It's rated for 3000 @ 2 on 13.8 volts. However, 80inches, xtremebassjunky, and alan dante all say the little thing can go down to 0.35 nominal like a 20.1 and spit out around 4000 while doing it. So I'm gonna hook up my 9515 at 0.65 nominal and see what kinda power I get on my weak electrical.

My point here is that you may not need 2 of the Stetsoms to get the power you're looking for according to these guys.

i'm probably just gonna go with a 40.1 if i can sell my 20.1, if i can't sell the 20.1 i'll pick up another and strap em, plus i don't really like pushing amps far below rated...it just shortens up their life.

just due to the 3000 at 1 ohm rating. i'd rather have one that is 4000w rated and not run it so hard all the time
From what I've seen the 2k6d has four output transistors, the 3000D has twelve of the same casing size. The Stetsom is pushing those transistors for all they are worth pretty much constantly. Not to say it won't do power, but I am a bit concerned about the use of so few transistors for so much power over the long term.

hmmm.....i'm still leaning towards a 40.1 but will now also consider a sundown. i won't be able to pick one up untili get my tax refund back. Hell, i won't have a car to put it in until then either. Waiting on that money to get my cutty painted and motor rebuilt.

Actually...i was looking at 2 of the V2KD's not the 2k6d. the v2kd claims 2000@2 ohms

i would look at what the electrical demands are for each amp rather than just go by the power. some are a little more forgiving in that reguard. there wouldnt be a night and day difference between 3000-4000 watts of true power anyway...the only question would be is if the amp is actually doing what it says it is doing.
