Alright, so I have my type argh, and its 4 ohm dvc, and I talked to the shop that I bought it from and they will let me return it for a brand new dvc 2 ohm. But if I get the dvc 2 ohm I will only be able to run it at 4ohm or 1ohm. And the current amp that I have is only 2 ohm stable, but I have the 4 year service plan on it.

So what im asking is if the 175w difference is really gonna be good... I want to push my stuff and people said for type arghs its alright to give them about 800 watts. Right now the amp runs really cool at 2 ohms and I have heard of people running the amp at 1 ohm. But is it worth doing while weighing the pros and cons, I must consult ca.com before-hand.

Agreed. You will likely void your warranty by running it at 1-ohm. Besides that, there is no guarantee that you will see an increase in power output.

If you actually do see an increase of ~175W, it will be barely noticeable.

(new power / old power)log*10 = difference in dB (not including power compression)

(832 / 657)log*10 = 1.025 dB increase... less after taking power compression into account.

Not worth the trouble.

You could email the tech department. I have a PG amp that's rated 2ohm stable, but tech said it would run fine at 1ohm for daily, just voids the warranty. Have had no problems running it that way for the past 4 months...

Anything worth getting is always worth it more at a steep discount. Not familiar with that unit, but the brand is great.
