Worth buying a seperate EQ or getting a better deck?

Well, it depends on how indepth you wanna get. If you just want seperate sub control and a high pass filter, than just buy a higher end pioneer deck. If you wanna go into a lot more control than go to a seperate eq. My suggestion is if you are just the standard car audio customer, than go into a better deck and call it a day. If you are a more serious enthusiest than go into a seperate EQ system

The 3800 is not one of Pioneer's better decks. I would say step up to a 6800 or 7800 and you'll have a much better sound and control. If you find yourself needing more control than that then you can always go for a seperate EQ down the road. Personally, I would not invest a bunch of money into and EQ and run it with a 3800. That would be like running high end speakers with a POS amp.
