I got a Kenwood XXV-03A 25th aniv. from a buddy nib. The specs look alright on it I just wanted to know what someone who actually knows systems thought about this amp. I will be running at 1 ohm so I will be getting 1000 rms, or so they say. I will get a larger amp very soon but this will be all I have to run 2 12" eclipse ti.'s. Well let me hear it. And yes I searched.

Not a big Kenwood amp guy, however i would guess its a decent amplifier worse case scenario.

Just take into account that they list rated power at 1% thd and 14.4v. So who knows what it does at leaner thd levels and voltage drops.

The 25th Anniversary units (amps, components, HUs, in-dash DVD) are supposed to be built better than the rest of their eXcelon counterparts.

That being said (and bearing in mind that I am a very loyal Kenwood fan) I have heard rather persistent rumors that the amps Kenwood has been putting out with claims of 1 Ohm load stability...well, simply put, aren't.

I have not tested this for myself having neither owned one or been presented with the opportunity to test one for myself. The only 25th Anny product that I have hands-on experience with is the CD-receiver (XXV-01D) and I dearly love that....but I cannot speak with any authority on that amplifier. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif

Well I have tha amp in. Just arrived. Now I will have to wait till my subs show up and I will be able to tell ya if it is 1 ohm stable. It looks tight but I really don't give a dammmm about the looks of my system rather the performance. I am already shopping for a 2k rms amp. I am leaning tward hiphonics but who knows. The Orion 2500 might just make its way in my ride.

That kenwood amp is not 1ohm stable i have used it...
If that is the case I will get rid of it quick. Or grab another one and run at 2 ohms each. It is rated at 919 rms there. they claim this is CEA compliant too. But they might have them in their back pocket. The manual claims it is 1 ohm but I will see tomorow. I will hook this up in my truck. to 2 w6v2's and see how it does.

If you're interested, I have an Incriminator Audio 20.1 amplifier for sale. Would work quite well for powering the TI's... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

How much?????

OK the verdict is in and this amp would be better suited in some highschool kids ride. to go along with his sony subs. 1 ohm my ars. It is fine to about 2/3 volume. If I go over that it will be loude and then it will over heat and go into protect. BSBS BS BS. I am going to sell it to some girl with some orion 10's for 250 for the package. Then i will just hunt down a 2500d and be happy.

This POS amp already has a short in it. What a freakin piece. I have contacted kenwood. and I am possibly taking legal action for false advertizement. The 1 ohm deal is in their manual. I am furious. No one buy kenwood anything. I am getting my money back but it is still going to cost me my time and sweat. I spent alot of my own time building designing am amprack for this thing and plus my money on wood and carpet.
