^^ I agree. I saw them in concert, and I don't really like them... but 2oh4, you listen to shitty stuff.
EMO is all shitty people playing shitty music and they are complaining about girls who dumped them. Nothing is original about it. Look at some good RnB for that shit..at least RnB has some rythm and meaning behind it.

i listen to the same styles of music that Brock does, and he considers himself some sort of an afociando of music and the arts.

and i hate music thats sucks just as much as any of you.

you're all just too closed minded and "hardcore" to understand anything that might be popular, look at music for its musical value and you'll be far better off than before....

good music to me, is talent, skill, and orignality.

music that i love , are these 3 things, and this. this is a lesson everyone on these boards needs to learn when they're hating on other people's choices of music. being false and hating a trend solely because of the fact that its a trend, is no better than being a part of the trend yourself.

I personally, do not find any of the new bands out today, that are apart of this emo shit, original, nor do i find them with much skill.

I consider danny carey from Tool, a good drummer. I consider Zack Wylde a good guitarist, I consider Common a good lyricist, as well with Illogic.

Thats the standards I hold todays music to. I don't think these guys have much skill, and are just "pre-packed subculture for the masses", as my friend would say.

I dont hate on the trend, I hate on the trend having shitty music.

Also-I dont think soad has much originality, I just stated they are more original to me, then half the bands out today. I mean shit, rap sounds so much alike nowadays....As with that emo crap.

Soad wasnt original- RATM was more original than them... at least RATM acutally DID something about what they sung about... they actually fought for causes, ever hear their Live and Rare?

sure, lots of music sucks, but you have to look at its origins and its place in your everyday spectrum of life. not all forms of music are there to showcase talent, in fact, most dont even know what 'talent' is.

emo - kids who wanted to be punk but were too ***** thus resulting in them getting beat up all the time by real punks and whining about it in their pseudo-punk overtones / whines / powerchords. emo isnt to showcase talent, its to showcase that any 13 year old kid in the suburbs who thinks his life is so terrible can pick up a guitar and make it sound like shit. im not going to start on the vocals.

punk - strictly awesome. next to no 'musical' value whatsoever, but when true to its roots serves a very good, yet uneffective purpose.

jazz - showcases true musical ability and spontanieous on the spot talent. not for you idiotic rehearsed rockers who have no concept of music other than 'boom boom clack' in 4/4 time.

rock - sucks. unoriginal (yet used to not be). has been watered down by middle class suburban idiots who think joining a fraternity and playing an acoustic guitar on a porch (with a popped collar of course) gains them points in the game of life...or should I say in the panties of underage girls with blonde highlights.

rap - dont get me started. theres this great thing called hip hop, but nobody seems to know what that is anymore.
