ok so on my way to a comp this weekend and my amp went it so short circuit protect. when i opened it up o noticed one of the wires that goes from the mosfet to a transformer had been rubbing against the bottom plate and worn through the isolation. What is the proper what to fix this. I was thinking wrapping it in friction tape and pushing it down as well as put friction tape on the area where it rubbed so that it cant touch any metal. here is a pic of the problem... it is hard to see but i did circle it

The proper way to fix it is to replace the wire, or use heat shrink to recover the wire, but that involves unsoldering the wire and you probably don't want to do that. You can get some liquid electrical tape but I've never used it before.

But after repairing it, definitely zip tie the wires down if possible to keep them from moving. Be careful of using tape on the metal because if the amp gets really hot the tape will not stick very well.
