Work BFF

my wife and i work at the same hospital (different departments/specialties) so I know alot of her colleagues. One of them is always around my wife. We all go to the same gym so that's usually the girl's point of conversation. I keep telling my wife the chick wants to be her work BFF, but my wife doesn't believe it. Have any of you noticed the work BFF phenomenon (someone you gravitate towards at work and are cool with even if you don't do anything outside the workplace). Over half my department is **** and the other half is old so I don't have to worry bout this BFF stuff, but I'm sure some of you have seen the same kinda stuff around the workplace. Speak on it

I do Loss Prevention and I just watch people on camera and go out and do my own thing. I may chat with people, but that is about it. Never have hung out with any of them just to hang out and shoot the shit too long.

So no, I have not experienced this BFF thang. I am usually in the office though, lol!

Yeah, working at a grocery store this tends to happen with a few folks. But I also met my girlfriend of 5 months there, and made a few good friends I do things with outside of work.

Well, I have bonded with one guy that I work with. His kids are my age, so he's older than me. But he is the only person I work with thats not fucked up. Everyone else smells bad or are too annoying to deserve words from me. Being able to carry on a conversation is criticle to receiving interaction from me.

When I first started here most of my group was about 20 years older than me except for one guy who was about 2 years older. We used to always just BS and talk about whatever. He bounced and another guy was hired who was about my age. We ended up becoming roomates. I work for a different group so I really do not talk to him at work anymore and he is so busy with work and school I never really talk to him at home either. Right now I sit in my cube for 9 hours a day and don't really interact with anybody. Kind fo sucks.

Actually I have never really seen much interaction at work. Most people kind of do their own thing. No going out to lunch together or water cooler conversations.
