word to you amp junkies; i got some symptons need diagnosis

so i run a massive p.1500.2 or somthing like that, its an older model massive... and its linked up to my massive cw12.... been runnin this shit for about a year now and its been bombproof, but about a month ago i would notice a small 'pop;, deffinetly interference of some sort... it sounded kinda like that distictive tap that one years when you tap your cone w/ ur finger... so this was a constant background sound that went on for about 2 weeks. I dunno i couldnt figure it out so i just turned the amp off and postoned my delema... then the amp just started going to into protect... no pop noise, just protect. So now after checking all my wires and all other silly causes of amp problems i cannot figure it out. Any suggestions? Get it repaired or get a new amp? Get it repaired, sell it and use the funds for the fosgate? Or just keep the amp depending on what kinda shape its in externally. The massive audio amps are pretty decent.
